Physician Burnout
Since 2001, ´óÏóÊÓÆµhas been investing in major projects that examine the effects of working conditions on healthcare professionals’ ability to keep patients safe while providing high-quality care. This research is part of the Agency’s ongoing efforts to develop evidence-based information aimed at improving the quality of the U.S. healthcare system by making care safer for patients and improving working conditions for clinicians.

All-Payer Claims Databases Measurement of Care: Systematic Review and Environmental Scan of Current Practices and Evidence
All-payer claims databases (APCDs) are large-scale databases that systematically collect professional, facility, pharmacy, laboratory, and dental claims, as well as eligibility and provider files from private and public payers. This literature review and environmental scan maps an approach to creating an inventory of measures of quality, cost, and utilization of care across settings for potential use with an APCD, noting gaps or current barriers to APCD measurement.
